Reflections

Christmas has come and gone.  This means the new year is fast approaching.....boy that was fast.   I have decided this would be a great time to reflect on the happenings of the past year.  So much has happened that my brain has a hard time keeping track of it all.  Many new beginnings occurred this year and also many challenges where faced.  Through it all I came out of it without many scars....more smiles in my heart than scars.
The best moments this year occurred in June.  On June 5, 2010 I married my best friend.  I married an amazing man, who is my whole world and I am so proud of him each day.  We had so many family and friends present it was amazing.  My relatives that I had not seen in years were present.  My Aunt who lived in Florida was even out for the special day.  It really was special not just for me but for my Dad.  He got to see his sisters and brother.  Priceless!!   Then just a few weeks later I became an Auntie for the first time.  My sister gave birth to a beautiful little boy.  He is such a wonderful gift.  So much love was shared in the month of June this year.
This year also had its hardships.  It felt like the moment we got back from our Honeymoon our families decided to fall apart.  My dad had a share of visits in and out of the hospital.   His health just seemed to be declining but he sure is a fighter.  Then my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Cancer.  She went in for surgery and is now doing her rounds of Chemo.  To say the least we have been praying and asking for prays from others.  I must say that prayer works because at this point everyone is doing well and we are on the mend.   My faith sure has been tested on many occasions.....I guess God just needs to make sure I still know he is there.
Then to top off the year on a good note my baby sister got married just a few weeks ago.   It sure made the month of December go by fast.  I just can not believe she has grown up already....she has become such a beautiful women.  I am so proud in all she has accomplished.  Well, I am proud of all my siblings.  I hope they all realize that.
I hope you were not expecting me to go into great detail of each month .  That would just be insane and I can not recollect all of that.  I just had to recap some of the most important parts of my year.  It makes me realize how lucky I am.  I have so much in my life to be grateful for and to look back at with a happy heart.  My hope for the new year is more smiles, laughter and love.  May your new year bring you much happiness and good health.

Many Blessings my friends and I will see you next year.  Happy New Year!

Laundry day......blahhh

So, I figure that my first post should be about something I do alot of and that is Laundry.  It would not be that exciting if I did not have to use the Laundromat.  I swear every time I go something new and usually awkward happens.  At least today it was not that bad.  I just figured I would go right after dropping my husband off at work.  Who is going to be a the Laundromat on a Sunday morning?  The crazies.  I mean it.  It must be where they hang out all the time.  To name a few.....the man with shorts and tank top when it is freezing out, a women who decides that she has to use the cart that someone else is using, someone trying to start up conversation with me when apparently I am not there to socialize ( I had only 1 cup of coffee...not good) and last but not least the women who works at the Laundromat who just likes to flirt with all the men when you need assistance.  Basically she is never available.   I do not know why she is there.  I swear it just makes me dream of the day when I no longer have to go to the Laundromat.

My question for you is.....Are all laundromats this way?  I dare you to check one out and let me know.  It sure makes my Laundry days interesting.
